Whew! This weekend has been CRAZY!! Sunday, August 6th, was this year's Annual Marquette Community Day! It is the biggest (and best) Back-to-School event on the southside. Hosted by allies of Marquette Park, Dutchtown Main Streets, community organizations, and influencers, this event strives to provide free backpacks, schools supplies, haircuts, health screenings, food, entertainment, community support, and so much more! This year we were sponsored by organizations like Boys and Girls Club, W.I.C., U.S. Bank, Confluence Academy - South City, Upper Limits, Mar'Bella's Kitchen, Logan's Kids Resale, Incarnate World Foundation, Health Communication Research Laboratory, Washington University, and so much more. The local firefighters, police officers, and park rangers also showed their support at the event. We want to help prepare the families of this community for the upcoming school year, so that EVERY student has the best chances of achieving greatness.
I pulled some pictures of last year's Marquette Community Day to the bottom of this post. I am very excited to scroll through all the pictures from this year's event and share them with you in next week's post.
